Subject: Greetings
Hi Ephraim,
Greetings from Ocean Shores, WA. I bought a house here and moved in on August 9th. I have 60 feet of waterfront on Duck Lake, a freshwater lake that has bass, trout, and crappie and is about a mile inland from the Pacific. I'm in the process of redoing the back yard that fronts the lake, putting in a lawn, dock and fence. The woman I bought the house from is a widow and had a zero maintenance yard, i.e. all paths, gravel, and beds and not a blade of grass to be seen. I've been too busy to get my pontoon boat in the water, but things are rapidly getting placed where they belong (although I still can't find one of my fly reels), so I intend to get it in this week sometime.
It's been a rough few months for me with the divorce and move, plus my granddaughter in Napa, CA was diagnosed with leukemia about two months ago. Fortunately it's a type of leukemia (acute lymphoblastic leukemia, or ALL) that is almost always cureable in kids, but she's got two years of chemo once a week ahead of her.She will be five on Sept 16th.
I talked to the president of the Olympia NHB and I'm going to their rehearsal Wednesday morning from 10-12. Olympia is about 75 miles east of here and it takes about an hour and a half. I just started practicing today
(Monday) after a three or four month hiatus, so my lip is not cooperating at all. No big surprise there. I go for about ten or fifteen minutes at most and I'll do that for at least three or four times a day. I doubt if I'll be even close to ready by Wednesday, but it's their first rehearsal of Fall, so I'll do the best I can. See their web site at http://www.olynhb.com/.
I don't have the band's blanket e-mail any more, so please pass this on to everyone. I'm looking forward to playing again and especially to playday next May.
Regards,
Don
