Veterans Day salute stirred memories
On Veterans Day, the Corvallis High School Fine Arts Department presented a musical salute to veterans by Robert Mix.
It was aptly named “Remembrance” as it brought back fond memories for all who attended this magnificent program.
To me it was like a documentary as the narrator, Marion Rossi, skillfully took the audience through every major war from the Revolutionary War to Iraq.
The music was provided by the Corvallis High School Concert Choir, the Corvallis Community Band, the Hilltop Big Band and many soloists. They were all outstanding. The music traversed three centuries from Yankee Doodle to the Beatles with special salutes to Glenn Miller and Bob Hope and a final salute to all the troops.
This was so well done that it should not just fade away and be forgotten. My hope is that Robert Mix and his capable staff can develop another great patriotic production.
