A request from Frank Craig:
I want to set up some times for volunteers to come work with my music/band students at Lacomb.
We meet for full band rehearsal every Tuesday from 2-2:45 and on Thursday we have brass from 1:15 to 2 and woodwinds from 2-2:45.
Any assistance in building a music program that has been non-existent for many years would be of great help.
We hope to march in the Strawberry parade for the first time in at least 10 years.
A few of the 38 kids had band last year but the program was hit and miss as the director had a baby and they didn't get started until mid to late November. This translates into every one is a beginner. the band is split about 50/50 as far as instrumentation.
At this point, I have a bass drum and a couple of snares. I am working on getting some other percussion equipment purchased. I have at least one of each instrument in the band in back up in case someone forgets or doesn't work for a time.
We are testing on #14 in the Essential Elements book 1 today... yeah!
